Job Title: Test Engineer I

Reports To: Christine Allgood

Location: Remote - DHS CISA Office of Bombing Prevention; approved work location within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday;

Security Requirements: Must successfully complete the required DHS/CISA OBP Public Trust background investigation, obtain and maintain a favorable DHS suitability/fitness determination (Public Trust), and maintain required system access.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States and meet DHS/CISA personnel and system access requirements.

AttainX is seeking a Junior/Mid-Level Tester I to support testing of TripWire, OBP’s secure information-sharing platform. This position executes and documents tests for digital modernization, cloud integration, data migration, and automation under the guidance of senior technical personnel.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• 2-3 years of related software testing or quality assurance experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience executing test cases, documenting results and defects, and verifying fixes for web applications or cloud-hosted services.
• Working knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing and requirements traceability.
• Familiarity with API testing, test scripting or automation, issue tracking, and version control tools.
• Ability to follow test procedures, protect sensitive information, and communicate clearly with developers and technical leads.
• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification is preferred.
• Must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA OBP Government Public Trust background investigation, system access, nondisclosure, and sensitive-information protection requirements.

Job Duties:

• Assist in developing test cases and scripts from operational requirements, Key Performance Parameters, and approved acceptance criteria.
• Execute tests that verify technical performance, operational effectiveness, and suitability throughout the application lifecycle.
• Support Developmental and Operational Testing using applicable DHS testing procedures and direction from senior personnel.
• Test web interfaces, API integrations, SaaS and cloud services, and compatibility with enterprise platforms.
• Verify authentication, external-user validation, access controls, and controlled information-upload workflows.
• Validate data migrations, data pipeline outputs, data-quality routines, and reporting or visualization functions.
• Record defects and reproducible test evidence; coordinate retesting after corrective changes and maintain traceability to requirements.
• Assist with repeatable test scripts and automated testing integrated into approved CI/CD workflows.
• Prepare test summaries and support reporting of conclusions, outstanding risks, and recommendations for Government acceptance.
• Maintain version-controlled test documentation and contribute to quality assurance, release readiness, and migration validation.
