The Procurement Assistant provides administrative and transactional support to the Procurement team by completing routine purchasing activities, following up with suppliers, and researching receiving and purchase order exceptions. This entry-level, part-time position is for someone organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with computer systems, and able to follow established processes and procedures.

Previous procurement or purchasing experience is not required. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training will be provided for core responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
• Create purchase orders for special orders and other assigned purchasing requirements following established procedures.

• Contact suppliers to obtain updates on upcoming, past-due, or otherwise outstanding purchase orders and shipments.

• Update purchase orders and internal systems with current supplier-provided delivery information.

• Identify late or potentially delayed shipments and communicate exceptions to the appropriate Procurement team member.

• Review receiving exception reports and research discrepancies involving purchase orders, receipts, quantities, or other transaction details.

• Maintain accurate purchasing records and supporting documentation.

• Follow established SOPs and step-by-step processes to complete assigned purchasing activities consistently and accurately.

• Assist the Procurement team with other administrative, reporting, and transactional activities as needed.
