This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Accountant in India.
This role sits within a global finance and accounting shared services environment, supporting accurate financial reporting, compliance, and scalable accounting operations. You will be responsible for executing core accounting activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting across month-end and quarter-end cycles. The position requires close collaboration with U.S.-based teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial data delivery. You will contribute to strengthening internal controls and supporting audit readiness in a fast-growing, dynamic organization. The environment is structured yet fast-paced, offering exposure to international accounting practices and large-scale SaaS-driven operations. This role is ideal for detail-oriented accounting professionals who enjoy process-driven work with strong analytical depth. You will also play a key part in improving efficiency and supporting the scaling of finance operations.
- Perform general accounting activities independently, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Prepare and post journal entries within defined deadlines for monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of variances.
- Support preparation of flux analysis and commentary for income statement and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities.
- Partner with internal teams to maintain strong internal controls and efficient accounting processes.
- Participate in SOX compliance activities and internal/external audit support processes.
- Handle ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience in a professional environment.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including accruals, fixed assets, leases, payroll, AP, AR, intercompany, and prepaid accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience working with U.S.-based teams and exposure to international accounting processes.
- Familiarity with tools such as NetSuite and FloQast is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in structured close cycles and meet tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working in remote setups with required US time overlap hours.
