Location: Boone, North Carolina | Full-Time | 8:30am - 5:00pm

- Compensation: Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Starting at $25.63 per hour.
- Schedule: Full-time position with standard business hours; occasional flexibility may be required

- Maintain the integrity of the revenue capture system across revenue-generating departments throughout UNC Health Appalachian
- Oversee chargemaster maintenance and updates in coordination with UNC Health system standards
- Monitor accurate and complete charge capture processes to optimize reimbursement and compliance
- Supervise denials management activities, charge/chart audits, and external audit response processes
- Collaborate with department leaders to provide education and guidance regarding revenue integrity responsibilities and payer compliance requirements
- Review CPT codes, HCPCS codes, and revenue codes to ensure billing accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Analyze trends, identify opportunities for operational improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Promote strong working relationships across departments while supporting a culture of accountability, integrity, and customer service
- Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to UNC Health Appalachian’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred
- Certification in billing and coding preferred, including CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, or RN
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in revenue cycle or healthcare finance required
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Coding credential preferred
- Certified Revenue Integrity Professional (CRIP) preferred
- Strong knowledge of revenue integrity operations and healthcare revenue cycle processes
- Extensive knowledge of CPT codes, HCPCS codes, and revenue codes
- Understanding of payer regulations, billing compliance, and reimbursement methodologies
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, physicians, clinical departments, and staff
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process improvement
- Continuous sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent hand, finger, and wrist repetition with moderate dexterity
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling greater than 30 lbs
- Frequent computer work and close visual attention required
- Rare exposure to bloodborne pathogens and healthcare-related hazards
- May occasionally be exposed to electrical/mechanical equipment, slippery surfaces, or emergency situations
- Subject to occasional irregular hours based on operational or organizational needs
