In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing complex customer programs and guiding Program Managers to ensure successful delivery across cost, schedule, quality, and profitability objectives. You will play a critical role in aligning cross-functional teams around customer expectations while driving operational excellence and long-term business performance. The position requires strong strategic oversight, combining program governance with hands-on leadership in customer engagement, manufacturing coordination, and financial performance management. You will ensure that all programs meet contractual requirements while also optimizing margins and improving customer satisfaction. Acting as a key interface between customers and internal teams, you will influence decision-making across engineering, operations, and commercial functions. This role also includes people leadership responsibilities, including mentoring, performance management, and capability development within the program management organization. The environment is fast-paced, highly cross-functional, and focused on delivering complex manufacturing solutions at scale.
In this role, you will lead program execution across multiple customer accounts, ensuring alignment between operational delivery, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee end-to-end program management activities, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance across major customer accounts.
- Direct and support Program Managers in executing customer programs, resolving issues, and maintaining delivery commitments.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans related to on-time delivery, schedule adjustments, and customer requirements.
- Lead customer program planning, including defining milestones, execution strategies, and delivery frameworks aligned with contractual obligations.
- Monitor program profitability, analyze variances against targets, and drive corrective actions to improve margins and financial outcomes.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities across engineering, manufacturing, and design teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.
- Prepare and present executive-level reports covering sales performance, forecasts, customer satisfaction, and program health.
- Lead and develop program management teams, including hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, and talent development.
- Ensure compliance of product designs with engineering standards, customer requirements, and internal specifications.
- Manage strategic customer relationships and ensure alignment of account strategies with business growth objectives.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in manufacturing program leadership, customer account management, and cross-functional team oversight within complex production environments.
- 8+ years of experience in metals manufacturing or complex industrial manufacturing environments, or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and development.
- Strong background in program or project management with responsibility for large, high-value customer accounts.
- Experience in account management and customer-facing program execution.
- Familiarity with CAD tools and engineering/design coordination processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, cost drivers, and production workflows.
- Ability to analyze financial performance, margins, and profitability metrics and drive corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities.
- Competitive annual salary: $151,000 – $193,000
