Responsibilities

  • An electrophysiology technologist performs support during electrophysiologic procedures such as diagnostic EP studies and ablations (with or without 3-D mapping) in the Cath Lab setting.
  • Duties performed in accordance with physician orders include scrub assistance, operation of electrogram monitoring and pacing software, electrogram data gathering and interpretation including measurement of intracardiac intervals, operation of radio-frequency generators, operation of 3-D mapping systems, operation of intra-cardiac echo and operation of programmable stimulators.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • At least one-year previous experience in the field of electrophysiologic procedures in a Cardiac Catheterization/Angiography Lab is required.

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of the principles of electrophysiology and in particular the electrophysiologic anatomy of the heart is required.
  • Understanding of the variety of electophysiologic equipment and their adaptation to specific generators and knowledge and understanding of multiple advanced mapping systems (currently ESI and Carto systems) is required.
