POSITION SUMMARY:
Front Office Admin provide initial contact between the patient and the office. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care through scheduling, registration, file maintenance and billing procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following are the essential functions of the job.
- Answers the telephone
- Schedules appointments
- Directs calls to appropriate staff
- Greets customers
- Provides appropriate information as needed
- Directs customers to appropriate staff
- Registers patients
- Enters or updates patient information in computer
- Verifies patient demographics and insurance information at each visit
- Maintains files
- Prepares fee tickets and charts for each patient visit
- Pulls charts daily for the next day visit
- Puts together new charts as needed
- Files charts as they are returned to front office
- Files reports and other paperwork into charts
- Opens and dispenses correspondence according to office policy
- Codes diagnosis and procedures according to CPT & ICD-9 guidelines
- Collects payments from patients
- Communicates with AR Department as needed
- Key charge and payment information into computer
- Assists with the coding and error resolution
- Assists patient with questions regarding their bills
- Reconciles daily batch
- Maintains patient confidentiality
OTHER DUTIES:

- Assumes other tasks as assigned
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior office experience preferably in a medical setting
- Basic knowledge of computer skills
- Basic medical terminology preferred
- Strong customer service skills
