Job Description
A. BASIC FUNCTION:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, supplies, equipment, and services required to support business operations and manufacturing needs. This position plays a key role in ensuring material availability, maintaining supplier relationships, managing costs, and supporting organizational objectives through effective procurement practices. The Buyer balances tactical purchasing execution with strategic sourcing activities to ensure quality, delivery, service, and cost expectations are achieved.
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Source and procure materials, supplies, equipment, and services in support of operational and production requirements.
· Review purchase order suggestions, issue purchase orders, and manage the procurement process from request through receipt and payment.
· Monitor open orders, delivery schedules, and inventory levels to ensure continuity of supply and minimize disruptions.
· Resolve order discrepancies, shortages, invoice issues, delivery delays, and supplier performance concerns.
· Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier files, contracts, price lists, and procurement documentation.
· Analyze supplier proposals, quotations, negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules and service agreements to determine optimal sourcing strategies.
· Support cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value improvement initiatives through effective sourcing and negotiation practices.
· Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and other departments to support organizational goals.
Requirements:REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and service agreements.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience evaluating bids, supplier performance, and procurement data.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
· Basic knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier management, inventory principles, and procurement best practices.
· Proficiency with ERP systems, procurement software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office applications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain functions.
· Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing and contracts.
· Manufacturing procurement experience preferred.
· Professional certification (CPSM, CPM, CSCP, APICS/ASCM) is a plus.
