Summary Objective
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing processes through equipment maintenance, technical troubleshooting, and process improvement activities. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize production workflows, improve manufacturability, and ensure equipment, processes, and documentation meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
Essential Functions
- Supports the overall vision for the future of manufacturing
- Support daily production processes through proactive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen events).
- Conduct testing, calibration, and analysis on production equipment, machinery, and systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency.
- Assist in designing, implementing, and validating modifications, upgrades, or new equipment setups for manufacturing lines.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, production teams, continuous improvement teams, quality assurance, and maintenance staff to resolve technical issues and optimize workflows.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on manufacturing equipment; document procedures and outcomes.
- Train and support production operators on equipment operation, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, including process instructions, schematics, work instructions, and records for compliance and auditing.
- Monitor production metrics (yield, downtime, cycle time) and recommend data-driven improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements (e.g., ISO), and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in new product introductions by supporting process validation, tooling trials, and scale-up activities.
- Identifies barriers to success and solicits help from leadership as and when needed.
- Participates in constructability reviews and collaborates with other departments to optimize products and establish design for manufacturability.

Work Location
This position will work out of our facilities in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing/office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position will regularly be out on the manufacturing floor. The position will be based out of the Normandy Manufacturing Facility; time will be split as needed between both the Normandy and Imeson Manufacturing Facilities.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position. Occasional local travel may be required based on business needs.
Required Education and Experience.
- Education in engineering or manufacturing, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2–5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in roles involving equipment support, process improvement, or technical troubleshooting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and CAD models
Preferred Education and Experience
- Proficient in CAD, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
- 2+ years of experience in modular fabrication and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with structural, piping, and electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly lines, automation, and production systems.
- Experience with PLCs, robotics, CNC machines, pneumatics, hydraulics, or other industrial controls is highly desirable
- Proficient in root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) and continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with ERP Systems
