Salary Range: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Part-time, per diem

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …

We are currently seeking a motivated, caring, and empathetic Residential Counselor to join our team. This position supports the 14 adults residing in our residential group home in Middletown.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Includes cooking, cleaning, laundry, and organizational activities.
  • Assist clients with involvement in community connections and activities to expand social networks and community integration.
  • Work with clients on their identified goals as outlined in their recovery plans.
  • Work with families and identified supports that can be part of the client’s recovery plan.
  • Conduct monthly resident groups that focus on health promotion and skill development in various life domains.
  • Support and assist clients with problem solving around daily integration into the community such as transportation to appointments, grocery shopping and other scheduled events.
Requirements:

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to professionally communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals.
  • Caring and empathetic, with the desire to help others in need.
  • Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
  • 1 or more years of experience working in the human services field is preferred.
  • High School Diploma required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
