This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage AI-powered education technology company and play a foundational role in scaling customer success and revenue growth.
You will own the post-adoption journey for schools, ensuring educators maximize the value of an innovative AI platform while identifying opportunities for expansion.
The role combines customer success, account growth, sales execution, and hands-on problem solving in a fast-moving startup environment.
You will work directly with leadership to build scalable processes, improve customer retention, and shape the future of the customer experience function.
With a strong focus on AI adoption, you will help transform how educators work while contributing to meaningful outcomes for students and schools.
This position is ideal for a commercially driven professional who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and building from the ground up.

Accountabilities:

As the Founding Customer Success & Commercial Expansion Lead, you will be responsible for driving customer adoption, retention, and revenue expansion across a growing portfolio of education customers. You will combine relationship management, commercial execution, and operational ownership to maximize platform impact and business growth.

  • Own account expansion strategies, identifying upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities within existing school networks.
  • Manage revenue expansion targets by increasing platform adoption across teachers, classrooms, schools, and districts.
  • Build strong ROI-based business cases to convert grassroots educator adoption into larger institutional partnerships.
  • Lead customer onboarding programs, including virtual training sessions and adoption initiatives to help educators integrate AI tools into their daily workflows.
  • Monitor usage data and customer engagement trends to proactively identify churn risks and implement retention strategies.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for troubleshooting, support coordination, and ongoing platform success.
  • Create scalable customer resources, documentation, and playbooks to improve adoption and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate directly with leadership to establish customer success processes, commercial strategies, and growth initiatives.
  • Gather customer feedback and translate insights into improvements for product adoption and business development.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a commercially minded customer success professional who thrives in early-stage environments and enjoys owning both strategy and execution. You should combine strong communication skills with a sales-oriented mindset and a passion for AI-driven innovation in education.

  • 2–6+ years of experience in customer success, account management, sales, or commercial expansion roles within SaaS, ideally in K-12 education technology.
  • Proven experience managing revenue targets, renewals, upselling, or expansion opportunities.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders, from educators to school leaders and decision-makers.
  • Comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor in a fast-paced startup environment with limited structure.
  • Experience creating customer onboarding programs, training sessions, and adoption strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use customer data and product usage insights to drive decisions.
  • Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to balance empathy for educators with commercial confidence.
  • Daily experience using Generative AI tools and enthusiasm for applying AI to improve productivity and workflows.
  • Strong ownership mindset, resilience, curiosity, and willingness to build processes from scratch.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience as a teacher, school administrator, or education professional.
  • Experience working with rapidly scaling EdTech companies.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered products, SaaS platforms, or digital learning solutions.
  • Experience selling into schools, districts, or education organizations.
Benefits:
  • Meaningful impact by helping improve educational outcomes and reducing teacher workload through AI-powered solutions.
  • Opportunity to join an early-stage company experiencing rapid growth and strong market demand.
  • Significant ownership and influence in building customer success processes and commercial strategies from the ground up.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility, autonomy, and a high-trust culture.
  • Direct collaboration with founders and leadership teams.
  • Continuous learning opportunities at the intersection of artificial intelligence, education, and SaaS innovation.
  • Competitive compensation package with approximately $30,000 base salary and $50,000+ on-target earnings potential.
  • Early-stage equity participation.
