Director of Health and Wellness:
The primary purpose of the Director of Health and Wellness, under the supervision of the Regional Director of Nursing and Executive Director, is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations. The position is responsible for direct resident care; hiring, training, developing, evaluating, and supervising the nursing department on all shifts; scheduling; and personnel problem solving. The position is charged with responsibility to ensure that the highest quality of care is delivered consistently to the resident population.

Essential job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
- Serves the residents as a member of the direct care team, while leading co-workers in gaining exceptional skills, dedication and compassion
- Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services in the nursing department
- Attends and prepares monthly staff meetings arranging or providing educational in-services for staff
- Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
- Serve as a point of contact, advocate, and informational resource for residents, family, care team, and community
- Assists with admission of new residents
- Perform general office functions related to PointClickCare entries, time keeping, and payroll processing.
- Promotes a safe and clean environment
- Assures that all equipment is clean and functional and reports any malfunctions to supervisor
- Reviews care plans daily to ensure provision of appropriate care
- Maintains confidentiality of all resident information and ensures resident privacy
- Promotes and supports the greatest possible degree of independence for residents
- Understands and reviews the community's Healthcare Clinical Policies and Procedures and Safety Guidelines
- Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards
- Assists families and other visitors as needed
- Promotes and exemplifies the Priority Life Care mission and values at all times
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; minimum of 5 years of previous long-term care experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience managing staff and working in a long-term care and/or assisted living setting preferred
- Experience with the applicable state Survey Rules & Regulations, Medicare and Medicaid
