You will own the technical side of the customer lifecycle, from discovery and onboarding through enablement, optimization, and long-term success.
The role combines hands-on troubleshooting, architecture guidance, technical workshops, roadmap development, and strategic stakeholder engagement.
You will also bring customer insights back to internal Product and Engineering teams, influencing future capabilities and priorities.
This opportunity is ideal for an observability expert who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while working directly with customers in a global, remote-first environment.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for a portfolio of customers, developing trusted relationships with engineers, SREs, architects, and technical decision-makers.
- Design and guide customer observability maturity journeys, helping organizations establish scalable practices and progressively improve their monitoring, reliability, and operational visibility.
- Architect complex observability solutions across modern infrastructure and application environments, ensuring technology is effectively integrated into mission-critical systems.
- Provide expert-level technical guidance, troubleshooting, workarounds, and root cause analysis to resolve issues and address challenges affecting customer satisfaction, adoption, and retention.
- Conduct regular technical reviews, health checks, and customer assessments to evaluate platform usage, identify risks, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
- Advise customers on best practices and strategies for maximizing the value of their observability solutions and achieving measurable business outcomes.
- Collaborate with customers to develop and execute technical roadmaps, aligning platform adoption with their evolving infrastructure, application, and business priorities.
- Identify opportunities to optimize customer environments, improve cost efficiency, expand platform usage, and adopt new products and capabilities.
- Work alongside Engagement Managers, Onboarding Solutions Architects, account teams, and other internal stakeholders to own the technical aspects of the customer lifecycle.
- Conduct customer training sessions, workshops, technical reviews, and enablement activities to increase confidence, adoption, and effective product usage.
- Develop clear technical documentation, guides, tutorials, reports, and other materials that help customers operate and scale their observability environments successfully.
- Prepare and present customer metrics, achievements, ROI, satisfaction indicators, upcoming needs, and areas of focus during regular business and technical reviews.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally by communicating technical requirements, product feedback, feature requests, and adoption challenges to Product Management and Engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical support, Technical Account Management, consulting, Sales Engineering, Professional Services, or similar technology-focused role.
- Strong hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes in production or complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in observability, with knowledge of modern monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, and reliability practices; experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki is highly desirable.
- Experience designing or guiding observability architectures and helping customers progress through different levels of observability maturity.
- Proven ability to manage multiple enterprise customers, technical projects, priorities, and workstreams simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer focus.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, systems-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- Experience with relevant enterprise tools and technologies, such as CRM platforms, ticketing systems, programming or scripting languages, and cloud or infrastructure technologies.
- Strong customer-facing and relationship-building capabilities, with the confidence to influence technical decisions and communicate the value and business impact of proposed solutions.
- A proactive, creative, and technically curious mindset, with a genuine passion for solving difficult customer problems and continuously developing technical expertise.
- Ability to work effectively with globally distributed, remote-first teams and customers.

- Willingness and ability to travel as required to meet customers, with travel of up to 25%.
- Additional experience in technical sales, Technical Account Management, Professional Services, or post-sales technical roles—particularly involving open-source technologies or observability—is highly valued.
- Experience connecting product adoption with measurable customer value, including ROI, and proactively addressing adoption challenges is a strong plus.
- 100% remote work within Australia, with a remote-first global working environment.
- Opportunity to work with sophisticated customers on complex observability, infrastructure, reliability, and cloud challenges.
- High-impact technical ownership across the customer lifecycle, from discovery and onboarding through maturity, optimization, and expansion.
- Direct exposure to modern observability technologies, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale technical environments.
- Opportunity to influence product development by bringing customer requirements and technical feedback directly to Product and Engineering teams.
- Strong autonomy and trust within a globally distributed organization.

- In-person onboarding designed to help new employees build relationships and understand the organization's ways of working.
- Wellness resources and a strong focus on sustainable work-life balance.
- OTE compensation range of $207,000–$256,000, with actual compensation dependent on level, experience, skills, and market.
