Responsibilities

The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by collecting, processing, and preparing specimens, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation to facilitate timely and reliable diagnostic testing. This role contributes to patient care, safety, and operational reliability by following regulatory standards and supporting efficient laboratory workflows. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or GED.

Required Work Experience:

• None required.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

• Valid State of Ohio Driver's License if role includes specimen transportation.

Qualifications

Preferred Education:

• Completion of a Medical Lab Assistant training program or relevant coursework

Preferred Work Experience:

• Six months to one year of experience in phlebotomy and/or specimen processing, or equivalent healthcare/laboratory experience
