• Collaborate with engineers, technologists, tradespeople, and clients to support the successful delivery of construction and fabrication projects, particularly within critical oil and gas infrastructure.
• Interpret applicable regulatory and statutory requirements, industry codes, standards, and customer specifications related to welding, fabrication, and materials.
• Monitor welding parameters and assist with the preparation of Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) under the guidance of the Welding Services Supervisor.
• Prepare internal work orders that clearly communicate testing requirements to relevant departments and maintain accurate traceability of samples and supporting documentation.
• Interpret laboratory test results and provide relevant technical information under the direction of the Welding Services Supervisor.
• Conduct welder performance qualification testing under appropriate supervision and ensure testing activities are completed accurately and in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Support clients with the implementation and application of welding processes, procedures, and technologies.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and contribute to general shop organization and upkeep.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment while following all applicable workplace health and safety requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement, process efficiency, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Take on special assignments and ad hoc technical projects as required, supporting broader operational priorities.

• Post-secondary education in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or a three-year Manufacturing Engineering Technology program is required.
• Welding Examiner Certificate of Competency issued by ABSA is required.
• CSA W178.2 Level 2 Welding Inspector Certificate of Compliance is required.
• Must be eligible to register for T.T., C.E.T., or E.I.T. status.
• Knowledge of welding processes, fabrication practices, materials, and applicable technical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to interpret welding specifications, codes, technical documentation, and laboratory test results accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining precise documentation, sample traceability, and quality records.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, technologists, trades professionals, clients, and other stakeholders in a collaborative technical environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple testing, documentation, and operational requirements.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, professional conduct, and continuous improvement.
• Practical problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new welding technologies, processes, and technical requirements.
