This role offers the opportunity to strengthen and expand a nationwide behavioral health provider network.
You’ll identify and engage providers, negotiate competitive rates, and support the onboarding and orientation of new network partners.
Working closely with Provider Relations, Clinical, Finance, Accounting, and Marketing teams, you’ll help ensure providers and clients receive effective support.
The position combines relationship management, business development, negotiation, and problem-solving in a collaborative remote environment.
You’ll also contribute to proposals, market research, competitive analysis, and improvements to network policies and offerings.
Your work will directly support access to quality behavioral health services while helping maintain a strong, responsive PPO network.

- Develop, expand, and maintain the PPO provider network by identifying prospective providers, conducting outreach, managing solicitation activities, and negotiating rates in accordance with established fee schedules.
- Coordinate provider rate negotiations with senior Provider Relations and Finance leadership, balancing network needs, contractual requirements, and financial considerations.
- Support provider orientations through individual and regional training sessions, ensuring new providers understand network expectations, processes, and resources.
- Serve as a key liaison between treatment providers, clients, patients, and internal teams, addressing questions and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Partner with Clinical teams on provider matching, case-specific connections, and problem-solving, as well as support Accounting and Marketing activities related to current and prospective client contracts.
- Assist with proposal development and other client-support materials as requested.
- Maintain and strengthen departmental policies, procedures, quality standards, provider contracts, and fee structures, recommending updates when appropriate.
- Participate in provider relations, marketing, research, public relations, and special projects, including monitoring competitor activity, regional provider rates, market trends, and relevant developments within the behavioral health field.
- Prepare reports, share market intelligence, recommend product or network enhancements, and keep leadership informed of important industry developments.
- Attend relevant meetings and perform additional duties or projects aligned with network development and provider relations objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent applicable education and experience.
- At least 3 years of provider relations experience, preferably within a PPO, HMO, managed care, or similar healthcare environment.
- Experience working with managed care or PPO networks, including provider recruitment, contracting, relationship management, and rate negotiations.
- Familiarity with the behavioral or mental health sector is preferred, along with exposure to public relations or provider-facing environments.
- Understanding of case management and utilization review functions is advantageous.
- Experience working with fiscal considerations, contractual terms, provider reimbursement, and rate structures.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and productivity tools, including Microsoft Word, Access, PCs, and internet-based systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, and the ability to manage extensive telephone-based outreach and relationship-building activities.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience delivering group presentations or speaking to provider audiences is preferred.
- A cooperative, professional, self-directed, assertive, and goal-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Experience supporting business, corporate, or employer-focused services is a plus.
- Full-time position offering 40 hours per week.
