Job Description
ABOUT OMI
OMI Industries has spent 35 years building odor elimination chemistry for industrial, commercial, and consumer use. Our consumer brand, Fresh Wave, eliminates odors with plant-based ingredients instead of masking them with fragrance. We are privately owned, headquartered in Palatine with manufacturing in Rising Sun, Indiana. This role works primarily on Fresh Wave, but will also contribute to Ecosorb (industrial) and Fresh Wave IAQ (commercial).
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Digital Marketing Manager owns Fresh Wave’s owned and paid digital channels: email and lifecycle, our Shopify site, organic search, and paid social and creator advertising. You’ll manage a seven-figure annual media budget, direct the agency partners who support paid search and display, and build the reporting that ties spend to results.
Fresh Wave is nationwide at Walmart and Target, twenty years into a partnership with Ace Hardware and rapidly growing on Amazon. This role connects that retail momentum to the digital channels that drive awareness, trial, and repeat purchase.
The work is hands-on. You’ll be in the ad manager and the ESP yourself, not briefing someone else to do it.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
• Paid social and creator advertising — campaign strategy and hands-on buying in Meta and TikTok, including whitelisted and partnership ads built from our influencer content.
• Email and lifecycle marketing — the full program in Klaviyo: calendar, segmentation, automated flows, list growth, and performance.
• Our website — Shopify content, merchandising, and conversion rate optimization.
• Organic search — site SEO, content strategy, and non-paid traffic growth.
• Media budget and agency partners — select partners, set goals, run the weekly cadence, and hold them accountable to results across paid search and digital display.
• Measurement and reporting — tracking, attribution, and regular reporting to leadership on spend, return, and next steps.
• Ecosorb and Fresh Wave IAQ — web presence, search visibility, and digital lead capture for our industrial and commercial brands. Secondary to Fresh Wave, but a real part of the job.
HOW THIS ROLE FITS
• You report to our Director of eCommerce, who owns the DTC P&L and the digital shelf. You own the traffic and conversion inputs that feed it.
• Retail media (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel) sits with eCommerce. Your work feeds these channels and you’ll be a key part of those conversations.
• Our Social Media Manager owns organic social and creator relationships. You partner closely with her to design a paid strategy and put budget behind that content.
GOALS FOR YEAR ONE
• A full email calendar and a working set of automated flows, with revenue attributed to both
• A tested, expanding paid social creative library sourced from our creator content
• Measurable improvement in site conversion rate, with the analysis to explain it
• Quarter-over-quarter organic traffic growth
• Every media dollar mapped to a channel owner, a goal, and a measured return
• A single reporting view leadership can use to make spend decisions
BENEFITS
• Annual bonus: discretionary, with eligibility beginning after one year of employment
• 401(k): company match on your contributions, up to 5% of your annual salary
• Health, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits, effective the first of the month following your date of hire
• Paid time off and paid holidays: 15 days of PTO and 8 paid holidays
• Milestone service awards at 1, 3, and 5+ years
Requirements:WHAT YOU BRING
• 5+ years in digital marketing, including at least 2 owning more than one channel at the same time
• Hands-on paid social buying — you’ve built, launched, and optimized campaigns yourself, inside the ad manager
• Email run in a real ESP (Klaviyo, Braze, Mailchimp, or similar), with your hands on segmentation and flows
• Agency management experience — you know the difference between a good partner and a good pitch
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to build reporting that holds up to scrutiny
• Clear communication with colleagues who don’t work in marketing dashboards
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
WHO THRIVES HERE
• You’re self-directed and comfortable setting your own priorities across several channels at once.
• You ask why the number moved, not just whether it moved.
• You work well across functions. This role touches ecommerce, social, sales, and creative, and none of them report to you.
• You like breadth. This is multiple channels, not one specialty.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU’VE…
• Worked on a consumer brand sold through national brick-and-mortar retail
• Run whitelisted, Spark, or partnership ads at scale
• Been hands-on in Shopify, GA4, or Google Ads
• Had exposure to retail media — Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel
• Run a website redesign or migration
• Marketed a B2B or industrial product alongside a consumer brand
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
(The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential work functions.)
• This is a hybrid role, with in-office work required Tuesday through Thursday.
• The role is primarily sedentary, involving long periods of sitting and working at a computer.
• Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Occasional lifting of items up to 10 lbs (e.g., laptops, marketing materials).
• The position is based in a typical office environment with moderate noise levels.
• OMI Industries manufactures odor eliminating solutions. Incidental exposure to raw materials including plant oils and fragrances may occur on site.
HOW TO APPLY
Send us a resume and a short note about one channel you built or grew, and what the number did. We read them.
