Director, Business Development Manager - PMO

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic business development leader with deep expertise in PMO services and consulting environments. In this role, you will drive the expansion of a growing PMO portfolio across industries such as technology, infrastructure, and utilities, helping organizations optimize project delivery and operational performance. You’ll work closely with executive leadership to identify new market opportunities, shape go-to-market strategies, and strengthen long-term client partnerships. The position offers a highly visible role with strong influence on organizational growth and innovation initiatives. This remote role also provides the opportunity to travel extensively while collaborating with cross-functional teams nationwide.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead business development initiatives to expand PMO services into new and existing markets across technology, infrastructure, utilities, and related sectors.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies aligned with the organization’s PMO capabilities and long-term business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing representative for PMO solutions, communicating value propositions and customized service offerings.
  • Oversee proposal development activities including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, cost estimation, market analysis, and competitive positioning.
  • Analyze industry trends and emerging opportunities to strengthen market presence and support sustainable revenue growth.
  • Collaborate closely with PMO leadership and delivery teams to align client expectations, project scopes, and operational execution.
  • Participate in networking events, conferences, and client debriefings to gather insights, improve strategies, and increase visibility in target markets.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and entrepreneurial growth while helping scale repeatable business development processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, consulting, or sales within technology, infrastructure, utilities, or similar industries.
  • Strong expertise in PMO services including project, program, and portfolio management methodologies.
  • Proven track record of securing new business, managing complex initiatives, and expanding into new markets successfully.
  • Experience developing winning proposals and managing competitive bid processes for large-scale opportunities.
  • Familiarity with PMO tools, project delivery models, and enterprise-level project lifecycles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while coordinating across distributed teams and multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Office 365 platforms.
  • PMP certification, engineering consulting experience, or established industry networks within data centers or technology organizations are considered strong advantages.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the United States (up to 75–100%).
