DISPATCH & TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR in Kent, Washington at Carpinito Bros Inc.

Carpinito Brothers, Inc. is a family-owned and operated company that has been serving the Puget Sound area for over 50 years. We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and professionally minded Dispatch & Transportation Coordinator to join our team at our Kent location.

Our privately owned fleet includes dump trucks, live-floor trailers, flatbeds, and van trailers that deliver landscape materials to homeowners, contractors, and wholesale customers throughout the greater Puget Sound region.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that plays an important role in keeping our delivery operation organized and running efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates well, enjoys working with customers and drivers, and can remain calm and flexible when schedules change.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Schedule deliveries with retail and wholesale customers.
• Communicate with customers regarding delivery dates, times, locations, and special instructions.
• Coordinate with drivers, sales staff, yard personnel, and management to ensure orders are prepared and delivered efficiently.
• Combine and route orders to maximize delivery efficiency and make the best use of available trucks and drivers.
• Monitor the daily delivery schedule and make adjustments as needed due to changing customer needs, weather, traffic, equipment availability, or other circumstances.
• Provide professional, friendly, and responsive customer service.
• Answer delivery-related questions and assist with resolving customer or driver concerns.
• Maintain accurate daily dispatch and transportation logs.
• Assist with documentation and recordkeeping related to deliveries and transportation operations.
• Communicate important delivery information and changes to drivers and other departments.
• Help ensure delivery operations are conducted safely and in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
• Work closely with the team to keep daily operations moving efficiently during busy periods.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be dependable and able to maintain regular attendance onsite.
• 1 year of dispatch or transportation coordination experience desired.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation requirements is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must communicate professionally, effectively, and pleasantly with customers, drivers, vendors, and coworkers.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize work, make sound independent decisions, and stay organized in a busy environment.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Comfortable adapting quickly when schedules, priorities, or delivery needs change.
• Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working with computers and learning company systems and software.

SCHEDULE

• Full-time
• Start time: 6:30am
• End time varies based on workload and business needs.
• Saturdays are required March through October.
• Lots of overtime available.

• $30.00–$40.00 per hour, DOE
