Senior Accountant in South Bend, Indiana at Lerman Holding CO Inc

Essential Functions:

· Accurately record monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries.

· Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.

· Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

· Sales, use, and property tax compliance

· Assist in planning, budgeting, and forecasting of expenses.

· Participate in physical inventories as needed.

· Assist with requests from management for ad hoc or special reports; provide requested data in a user-friendly format.

· Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

· Able to extract data from a database and manipulate/combine with other data.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office apps (Outlook, Excel, Word).

· ERP experience software experience with Oracle / SAP / Plex preferred.

· Inventory cost valuation a plus.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

· Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

· Able to work in a team and independently.

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting and a minimum of three years’ applicable work experience.

· MBA and prior manufacturing industry experience preferred.

· Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.

· Experience with accounting software systems.
