CDL Driver - Part-Time 1st Shift (Warehouse) in Hanover, Pennsylvania at RH Sheppard Co Inc

The primary responsibility of this position is to load and unload the truck with material to be moved from one plant to another and reload the truck with any outbound material at the dock where you just unloaded. May act in a lead or training role and will perform under minimum supervision. Responsibilities captioned below are considered essential functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Responsible for moving both raw and finished goods between plant assignments by using 26 foot box trucks to accommodate plant needs.

• Loading and unloading of trucks delivering parts to our plants with a floorwalker

• Perform routine maintenance for excessive wear and/or damage of operating equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Predominantly operates in a shop floor or warehouse environment. Position requires walking frequently through shift on concrete in production areas. May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust, fumes, cold temperatures, and noise. Adequate hearing, eye, and footwear protection is required in production areas.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

SCHEDULE:

• Part-time at 25 hours per week
• 5-hour Day Shift from 6am to 11am Monday through Friday

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
• One year in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to interpret and comprehend plans.
• Proficient in the operation of gas-powered material moving equipment and trucks.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Required to be certified to operate material moving equipment; also, parts truck driver, will be required to have a CDL
• Completion of floorwalker certification We will train and certify.
• Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles
• Ability to work overtime as needed both daily and weekends.
