Function of Position:
Under the supervision of the Director of Learning Support Systems (LSS), the LSS Department Aide will support day-to-day operations of the Tutoring and Academic Assistance Center. Aides will gain in-depth knowledge of office operations, program development, and the strategic and creative coordination of services.
*This is a part-time, temporary position
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Projects include, but not limited to:
Creating program brochures, flyers, and other marketing materials;
Maintaining bulletin boards and other communications within the Center;
Marketing programs (market programs via social media); Coordinating with campus events to table; and conducting general marketing for the Center;
Maintain Center social media communications, including YouTube and Instagram content
Assisting with development and expansion of Center technology
Attending regularly scheduled staff meetings with Learning Support Systems Staff;
Research best practices across various arenas of academic support programs and services;
Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The candidate who is selected for this role must be a dynamic and creative self-starter who is tech savvy and comfortable taking initiative. The person selected for this role must work well in a collaborative environment, and this individual must be detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
The candidate must further demonstrate a capacity and desire to work with students and possess a sincere passion for and investment in supporting student success.
Finally, the candidate who is selected must demonstrate an ability to act in a professional manner and be sensitive to and respectful of all staff, while sustaining a willingness to learn new skills and contribute to the innovation and ongoing development of academic support services at Monroe Community College.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidate should uphold a positive attitude under pressure, display a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with a student population.
Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:
Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has an hourly range of $16 to $25 and is based on these mentioned factors.
Schedule: Not to exceed 20 hours/week
