This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Development Representative – Outbound based in the United States.
This role is focused on driving top-of-funnel growth through high-quality outbound prospecting in a mission-driven, impact-oriented industry. You will be the first point of contact for potential customers, engaging decision-makers across municipal and private organizations within the waste and recycling sector. The position requires confidence in cold outreach, strong communication skills, and the ability to create credible, value-led conversations from the very first interaction. You will work closely with Account Executives to convert prospects into qualified opportunities, directly influencing pipeline generation and revenue growth. Success in this role depends on persistence, curiosity, and disciplined execution of outbound sales activities. It is a fast-paced environment where your work contributes not only to commercial success but also to more efficient and sustainable environmental operations.
- Execute outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, and multi-channel outreach to engage decision-makers and generate qualified meetings.
- Research and identify new prospects within assigned territories to complement marketing-generated leads and expand pipeline coverage.
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads using structured discovery conversations and established qualification frameworks.
- Book and hand off qualified meetings to Account Executives while ensuring context and account information is accurately documented.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives to align on target accounts, messaging, and conversion strategies.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring up-to-date tracking of activities, contacts, and opportunity progression.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly activity, conversion, and pipeline generation targets.
- Prior experience in an SDR or BDR role with a strong focus on outbound prospecting (preferred).
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales or activity quotas through cold outreach.
- Strong communication and phone presence, with the ability to engage decision-makers confidently in early-stage conversations.
- Experience working with CRM tools such as Salesforce and sales engagement platforms like Outreach.
- Familiarity with qualification frameworks such as BANT (MEDDIC a plus).
- Ability to research accounts, identify opportunities, and build structured outreach strategies.
- Strong resilience, persistence, and comfort working in a high-volume outbound environment.
- Experience in SaaS or vertical SaaS environments is a plus.
- Competitive base salary of $55,000 – $65,000 with $100,000 OTE.
