Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate Lead plans, monitors, and organizes inventory control, receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation, so equipment and supplies are located in the proper bins and available in a timely manner. The Warehouse Associate III is responsible for ensuring manufacturing goals and project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with cGMP standards, environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines, and all applicable regulations. They are also responsible for warehouse personnel management and maintenance of warehouse equipment, forklifts, and shop.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of warehouse personnel
- Maintain an equipment structure and level to accomplish the warehouse receiving mission safely and effectively
- Assist in providing appropriate equipment and racking for safe transport and storage of all materials
- Monitor the unloading of all materials into the Receiving Department; support and participate in corporate and regulatory inspections
- Oversee the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner
- Ensure regular and frequent safety discussions and meetings are held; conduct timely safety orientation and training for all new warehouse hires
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to ensure daily operations are completed
- Support raw material and product management by initiating timely procurement and fostering supplier relations
- Serve as back-up to warehouse personnel, including receiving and kitting
- Support cycle count inventory program; review discrepancies identified during cycle counting and define proper corrective actions
- Assist in the management of the annual physical inventory
- Drive shelf life and expiring materials management; maintain audit readiness at all times
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, logistics, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, and material handling practices
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a warehouse environment, including team oversight and operational execution
- Current forklift license or ability to pass internal forklift certification
- Proven working experience as a warehouse worker
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to approximately 50 lbs)
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
- Prior proven experience working in a warehouse and ability to safely operate a forklift
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and basic PC usage
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily in a warehouse and receiving environment within a regulated manufacturing or production facility
- frequent movement throughout the warehouse floor, receiving docks, and storage areas
- operates in an environment subject to cGMP standards and EHS guidelines
- Exposure to industrial equipment, heavy machinery, forklifts, and pallet jacks is routine
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse facility for the majority of the workday
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching overhead, and kneeling to access materials, inspect storage configurations, and assist with receiving and kitting operations
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds independently
- Sufficient dexterity and coordination to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Visual acuity sufficient to read labels, shipping documents, inventory records, and computer screens
- Ability to operate standard office and warehouse technology including computers, inventory management systems, and handheld scanning devices
- Capacity to work in environments with variable noise levels generated by warehouse equipment, machinery, and material handling operations
- Ability to work in temperature-variable environments, including exposure to heat, cold, or outdoor conditions during receiving and dock operations
- Ability to remain alert, focused, and detail-oriented in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where safety and compliance are non-negotiable
