Loan Program Assistant
Work Schedule/Location: 20 Hours Per Week, In-Office Valhalla, NY
Summary of Equipment Loan Program Assistant: WIHD is recruiting for a part time, dynamic person to support all areas of the loan programs function’s from cleaning, repairing, shipping, data collection and entry, answering phones, working with counselors and service providers, sharing information, entering equipment, plus more. The individual will also assist with scheduling appointments and facilitating requests in person, on phone and electronically.
About Us: The Assistive Technology Loan Program the Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) loans devices to individuals, families and service providers in a tri-county region. Devices include adaptive seating, communication, toys, walkers, wheelchairs, visual supports, computers, iPads, plus more. Extensive computer/tablet updating and clearing for preparation for re-loaning. Equipment is stored on multiple floors within the Institute.
Flexible Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 20 Hours per Week with Paid Time Off, STD, LTD, Term Life and 403b Employer Contribution
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain loan program database and assist with excel documents to maintain equipment inventory. Including data entry and data collection;
- Cleaning repairing, updating and shipping of loan program equipment;
- Customer/counselor follow-up via phone and email;
- Additional projects as needed.
Education, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of: Windows, Mac OS, IOS, and MS Office. Excel fluency required.
Kind and Length of Experience: High School Diploma. Comfortable using tools (screw drivers, allen keys etc.) Able to lift up to 40 lbs to prepare AT equipment for shipment. Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or AT equipment is preferred.
General personality traits: Ability to communicate newly learned information effectively with colleagues, families and others by phone and email and work as part of a team. Great organization skills, ability to independently absorb and process information, and ask for assistance when needed. Multi-tasker who can easily switch to and from tasks to meet the needs of our consumers and team. Must have desire to learn, innate mechanical and technical abilities, paired with sense of humor -- every day is different.
