This role sits at the intersection of advanced geophysical science and mission-critical environmental remediation work, supporting large-scale defense and infrastructure projects. You will analyze and process complex subsurface survey data to identify and classify anomalies related to munitions and explosives of concern. Working within a highly specialized geophysics team, you will contribute directly to national safety and environmental restoration efforts. The position involves hands-on use of advanced electromagnetic and geophysical processing tools to transform raw survey data into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with geophysicists, QC specialists, and field teams to ensure accuracy and technical rigor across deliverables. This is a detail-driven, technically demanding role where precision, innovation, and scientific judgment directly impact project success.
You will be responsible for processing, analyzing, and classifying advanced geophysical survey data to support munitions response and environmental remediation programs. You will work within a technical team to ensure high-quality outputs and compliance with project standards.
- Process and analyze EMI and DGM survey data to identify and classify subsurface anomalies using specialized geophysical software tools
- Support project geophysicists in developing technical approaches for Military Munitions Response Program investigations
- Execute quality control and validation of processed datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability of outputs
- Assist in defining and improving geophysical workflows, methodologies, and data processing standards
- Contribute to documentation, reporting, and technical deliverables for client and regulatory requirements
- Mentor junior data processors and support capability development within the team
- Participate in innovation initiatives including workflow optimization and advanced analytical techniques
You will bring strong geophysical processing expertise combined with hands-on experience in munitions response or similar subsurface analysis environments. You are comfortable working with complex datasets and specialized processing tools in a highly technical setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in munitions response geophysical work, including field and data processing exposure
- Strong proficiency with geophysical processing tools such as BT Field, EM Class, and Oasis Montaj modules
- Experience analyzing EMI and DGM datasets and classifying subsurface anomalies
- Familiarity with advanced geophysical instrumentation such as AGC sensors is highly desirable
- Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail and high data accuracy standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and collaboration
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while coordinating with distributed technical teams
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to federal project requirements
- Competitive base salary ranging from $88,400 to $154,700 annually, based on experience and location
