This role sits at the heart of a fast-scaling, open-source observability platform focused on building reliable, high-performance backend systems that power critical alerting infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing and evolving core services that ensure alerts are processed accurately and at scale, even under high throughput and complex system loads. The work is deeply technical, spanning distributed systems, backend architecture, and performance optimization in Go. You will collaborate with a high-caliber engineering team building developer-first infrastructure used by thousands of engineering teams globally. The environment is remote-first, fast-moving, and highly ownership-driven, with a strong emphasis on shipping robust systems. This is a high-impact role where your work directly influences system reliability, incident response workflows, and user trust. • Design, build, and scale backend services powering the alerting system with a focus on reliability and performance
• Develop and maintain high-quality APIs and core backend components in Go
• Ensure alerting systems operate reliably at scale, handling thousands of concurrent alerts efficiently
• Build and integrate external system connections such as JIRA, incident management tools, and other third-party services
• Architect distributed systems with strong attention to concurrency, fault tolerance, and performance
• Participate in end-to-end ownership of features from design through implementation and production rollout
• Improve system observability, debugging capabilities, and operational resilience of backend services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical direction and system requirements
• Write clear technical documentation, design proposals, and trade-off analyses
• Contribute to continuous improvement of backend architecture, tooling, and engineering practices

• 5–10 years of professional experience in backend engineering, with strong expertise in Go (Golang)
• Deep understanding of concurrency primitives such as goroutines, channels, locks, and performance tuning in Go
• Strong experience designing and building distributed systems at scale
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and production-grade backend code
• Experience working in high-ownership, fast-paced, remote-first engineering environments
• Strong end-to-end ownership mindset, from problem discovery to production deployment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs clearly
• Open-source mindset with contributions to OSS projects considered a strong plus
• Familiarity with observability systems, alerting pipelines, or incident management workflows is advantageous
• Exposure to technologies such as OpenTelemetry, ClickHouse, or Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience in core engineering teams at high-growth or Series B+ companies is desirable
