We're looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician who takes pride in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming environments where children can learn, grow, and succeed.

- Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician
- Hours: Onsite, Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
- Requirements: 5+ years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction, skilled trades, or related experience
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll help maintain Heartspring's school, residential homes, therapy spaces, and campus grounds by performing a variety of skilled maintenance and repair tasks.
Building & Facility Maintenance- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and campus facilities.
- Complete general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring, roofing, windows, doors, ceilings, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine effective repair solutions.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify safety concerns and maintenance needs.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and facility regulations.
- Maintain campus landscaping, grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and outdoor spaces.
- Operate landscaping and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Support snow removal, seasonal maintenance, and campus beautification efforts.
- Ensure outdoor environments remain safe, accessible, and visually appealing.
- Complete construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects.
- Build, repair, and modify adaptive equipment and campus fixtures.
- Assist with facility modifications that support the therapeutic and educational needs of students.
- Work independently and collaboratively on maintenance projects across campus.
- Partner with staff, vendors, and contractors to complete projects efficiently.
- Communicate professionally regarding maintenance schedules and repairs.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and unexpected facility needs.
Requirements: What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- 5+ years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction, skilled trades, or related experience
- Working knowledge of:
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing systems
- HVAC systems
- Carpentry
- General building maintenance
- Grounds maintenance and landscaping
- Experience working in healthcare, education, residential, or campus environments is a plus
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and digital work order systems.
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally is required.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Responsibilities may include working at heights, in confined spaces, and around maintenance equipment and tools. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required when necessary.
