Job Description
Production/Operations Process Engineer wanted to support process development, optimization, scale-up, and continuous improvement for an innovative and rapidly scaling manufacturer in Gaston County.
Process Engineer works closely with the Lead Chemical Engineer and production teams to improve process performance, troubleshoot technical issues, support new product development, and build the engineering foundation required for future growth.
Must be comfortable balancing engineering analysis with hands-on work in a manufacturing environment and spending significant time on the production floor learning processes, gathering data, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with operations teams.

- Assist with development and commercialization of new products
- Support pilot trials and process validation activities
- Collect and analyze process data
- Participate in scale-up planning and execution
- Evaluate technical risks and opportunities
- Investigate process deviations and operational challenges
- Support production teams with technical troubleshooting
- Help ensure processes are executed consistently and effectively
- Maintain process documentation, technical records, and SOP development
- Document experiments, investigations, and engineering findings
- Assist with development of process standards and best practices
- Collect, organize, and analyze process data
- Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Support data-driven decision making
- Support equipment installation and commissioning
- Assist with process design reviews
- Participate in facility improvement projects
- BS in Chemical Engineering or related
- 3+ years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, or process manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in technical writing and documentation
- Proficiency with Excel and engineering calculations
- Proven in proactive and effective communication across technical and operational teams
- 5+ years of process engineering experience, preferred
- Extraction, purification, distillation, solvent recovery, or related experience, a plus
- Scale-up commercialization efforts experience, preferred
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement and safety principles
- Experience with statistical analysis and process data evaluation
