Job Description
The Golf Bag Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient golf experience for all members and guests. This position is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and organization of golf carts, golf bags, and related equipment, while providing exceptional service in a professional and courteous manner.
This is a part-time, seasonal position working up to 32 hours per week, based on operational needs. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of golf, strong communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Member & Guest Service- Greet members and guests promptly, courteously, and professionally.
- Assist with loading and unloading golf bags from vehicles.
- Provide accurate and friendly verbal communication when interacting with members and guests.
- Anticipate player needs and provide timely assistance throughout the day.
- Consistently provide a high level of service in keeping with Imperial Golf Club standards.
- Prepare, stage, and set up golf carts for daily play.
- Clean, restock, and return carts to the cart barn at the end of the day.
- Ensure carts are properly charged and ready for the next day’s use.
- Report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns promptly to the Golf Mechanic or supervisor.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cart barn and surrounding work areas.
- Tag and store new member golf bags and maintain accurate storage assignments.
- Clean and store member and guest golf clubs and shoes after play.
- Assign, clean, and maintain rental clubs and shoes.
- Keep the Bag Storage Room neat, orderly, and secure.
- Collect and wash practice range balls.
- Ensure the practice range is properly stocked and maintained throughout the day.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of practice areas.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude at all times.
- Follow all Club safety procedures and established operating practices.
- Safely lift, load, transport, and handle golf bags and related equipment.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the Golf Operations team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of golf preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to safely lift and carry golf bags and other equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods.
- Ability to perform duties outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Demonstrated commitment to outstanding member and guest service.
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure during busy periods.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to assist in all areas of Golf Operations as needed.
- Familiarity with Imperial Golf Club standards of hospitality and service excellence is a plus.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, or move golf bags, equipment, and other objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and standing for extended periods, including on hard and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to safely load and unload golf bags and equipment from vehicles and golf carts.
- Must be able to perform job duties in outdoor weather conditions, including heat, humidity, sun exposure, wind, and occasional rain.
- Requires sufficient manual dexterity, balance, mobility, and stamina to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
