Job Description

Animation Production Coordinator - Freelance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Animation Production Coordinator - Freelance based in Spain.

As an Animation Production Coordinator, you will provide essential operational support to an animation team working on ambitious, high-quality game projects. You will create clear visibility into progress, priorities, capacity, dependencies, and blockers across the animation pipeline. The role combines project coordination, data accuracy, reporting, and proactive follow-through to keep production moving efficiently. You will work closely with animators, Animation leadership, Production, Design, Code, Tech Animation, and VFX. By keeping project information accurate and ensuring actions are followed through, you will help teams make better planning and delivery decisions. This is an opportunity to contribute to major gaming projects within a collaborative, fully remote international environment.

Accountabilities:

You will support the day-to-day operational management of the Animation department, ensuring that production information remains accurate, actionable, and easily accessible to the people responsible for delivering the work.

  • Maintain accurate Animation Jira tickets, including estimates, statuses, priorities, ownership, and other relevant information.
  • Track end-of-day updates and time logging, identifying missing or inconsistent information and following up as needed.
  • Keep Animation plans, spreadsheets, and Jira data consistently aligned.
  • Identify stale tickets, missing estimates, overdue tasks, and potential capacity gaps.
  • Maintain a live overview of team capacity, current assignments, and upcoming work.
  • Prepare concise daily and weekly progress reports for Animation and Production leadership.
  • Capture actions from meetings and reviews and ensure they are converted into properly tracked tasks.
  • Follow up on outstanding decisions and actions to ensure issues are resolved and loops are closed.
  • Help coordinate Animation reviews, implementation checks, and subsequent follow-ups.
  • Track blockers and dependencies across Design, Code, Tech Animation, VFX, and Production.
  • Provide Animation leadership and Production teams with accurate, reliable information to support planning and decision-making.

Requirements:

You should have strong experience coordinating work within a game development environment, with excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to keeping teams aligned. Experience working directly with animation production and project-tracking systems will be particularly valuable.

  • 3+ years of experience in the games industry, ideally in Production or another relevant role focused on Animation.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
  • Solid experience using Jira and other project-tracking tools.
  • Comfortable working with schedules, estimates, time data, and production reporting.
  • Good understanding of game development pipelines and production workflows.
  • Previous Animation Production experience is strongly preferred.
  • Confident communicating with animators, designers, programmers, Tech Animation specialists, and Production teams.
  • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership beyond purely administrative responsibilities.
  • Ability to actively chase information, resolve gaps, and ensure tasks and decisions reach completion.
  • Previous experience as an Animator, Animation Lead, or animation mentor is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine, Maya, and animation workflows is desirable.

Benefits:

  • 5-month freelance contract with an immediate start.
  • Fully remote work within a distributed international environment.
  • Flexible schedule with core working hours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM CET.
  • Opportunity to work on ambitious game projects using modern and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Collaboration with talented professionals from across the global gaming industry.
  • Diverse and inclusive working environment.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Sports membership reimbursement.
  • Company events.
  • Remote office setup support.
  • Profit-sharing bonus.
  • Generous referral scheme.
  • Flexible working hours.
