Job Description

Description:

Who we are:

Envision Cold is a leading provider of cold storage solutions serving temperature-controlled supply chains across North America. We support customers in food, beverage, and other temperature-sensitive industries with end-to-end cold chain capabilities, from initial processing through final-mile delivery. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, we continue to expand through development, construction, and acquisition of best-in-class cold storage facilities.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Maintenance, Systems & Reliability Manager to own the systems, data, and reliability engineering programs that underpin maintenance operations across every Envision Cold facility. This corporate role partners with the VP of Facilities/Refrigeration Maintenance & Reliability Operations and both regional Directors of Maintenance and Reliability to select, implement, and build out the CMMS platform, standards, metrics, and reliability programs that Directors and Regional Maintenance Managers use to run their coasts — without owning day-to-day site or regional headcount.

This role is ideal for a maintenance or reliability professional who thinks in systems and data as much as in wrenches and refrigerant — someone who can translate field-level realities into enterprise standards, technology, and reliability strategy, and who is comfortable driving change across the organization through influence and subject-matter expertise rather than direct authority.

This is a hybrid position. Ideal candidates will be based in the Atlanta area to collaborate with our Corporate team in the office when not traveling, with in-office frequency ranging from 1 to 3 days per week depending on business needs. Candidates outside the Atlanta area must live within a reasonable distance of a major airport to allow for travel, including recurring trips to our Corporate office. This role will require regular travel regardless of location.

What you’ll do (including, but not limited to):

Enterprise Reliability & Maintenance Strategy

  • Design and own the enterprise-wide reliability strategy — criticality-based PM/PdM optimization, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles, and failure mode analysis — applied consistently across every Envision Cold facility.
  • Partner with the VP and both Directors of Maintenance and Reliability to translate strategy into standardized programs, templates, and playbooks that Regional Managers execute at the site level.
  • Analyze enterprise-wide maintenance, downtime, and reliability data to identify systemic issues, cross-regional trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Benchmark performance across regions and facilities, and recommend where standards, training, or investment should be prioritized.

CMMS & Maintenance Systems

  • Lead selection and implementation of the enterprise CMMS/EAM platform — including vendor selection within the first 30 days of hire — then own its ongoing administration, configuration, and continuous improvement, including asset hierarchies, PM schedules, and work-order standards used company-wide.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency of maintenance records, equipment history, and reliability metrics across all facilities and regions.
  • Build and maintain enterprise dashboards and KPI reporting (uptime, MTBF/MTTR, PM compliance, maintenance cost per unit, and similar) for the VP, Directors, and executive leadership.
  • Evaluate and implement new maintenance technology (e.g., predictive maintenance sensors, condition monitoring, mobile CMMS tools) and lead enterprise-wide rollouts.
  • Feed CMMS-based vendor performance data into the scorecards Regional Managers use to manage the single-source facilities vendor relationship.

Refrigeration, PSM & Compliance Systems

  • Own the enterprise systems and documentation infrastructure used to track PSM/RMP compliance (PHAs, MOC, PSSR, mechanical integrity) for ammonia refrigeration systems company-wide — the underlying data and systems, not the PSM program itself, which the Manager, Maintenance, Refrigeration and Corporate PSM owns as the organization’s subject-matter authority on PSM/RMP compliance.
  • Serve as an enterprise subject-matter expert on refrigeration systems, equipment, and reliability engineering — distinct from PSM/RMP program authority — providing technical consultation to Regional Managers and Directors on complex or recurring system issues.
  • Maintain enterprise-wide certification and training compliance tracking (RETA, EPA 608, OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, and similar) across all maintenance personnel.
  • Support audit readiness and continuous improvement of compliance systems ahead of internal and regulatory reviews.

Capital & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Provide data-driven input into enterprise capital planning, helping prioritize reliability- and risk-based capital investment across regions.
  • Partner with the Directors, Regional Managers, Engineering, and Operations to evaluate the reliability and maintainability impact of new equipment, facility designs, and acquisitions.
  • Support acquisition due diligence from a systems, reliability, and maintenance-data perspective.

Talent & Continuous Improvement

  • Build out enterprise training curricula and certification pathways (e.g., RETA, GCCA, Lanier Tech) in partnership with the Directors, and track completion company-wide.
  • Lead or mentor a small enterprise team (e.g., reliability engineers, CMMS analysts) as headcount is added.
  • Champion Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodology across the maintenance organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/needed.
Requirements:

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Facilities/Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred; CMRP or CRE certification strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive maintenance/reliability experience in industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, or cold storage environments, including significant experience leading selection and implementation of a CMMS/EAM platform, plus ongoing administration, at an enterprise or multi-site level.
  • Direct experience with ammonia and/or Freon-based refrigeration systems and OSHA PSM/EPA RMP compliance strongly preferred.
  • RETA CARO, CIRO, EPA Section 608 Universal Certification, and/or OSHA 10/30 certification a plus.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to build KPI dashboards and translate data into actionable recommendations for executive audiences.
  • Working knowledge of reliability engineering principles (RCM, FMEA, predictive maintenance technologies).
  • Experience developing enterprise-wide standards, SOPs, or training programs across multiple sites or regions.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable influencing and driving change without direct authority over field leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CMMS/EAM platforms, and reporting/BI tools.
  • Ability to travel 15–25% of the time to facilities across the country to support system rollouts, training, and audits; expect travel well above that average during the initial CMMS rollout, when all sites are targeted to go live within the first 90 days.
  • Physically able to enter and work within cold storage/freezer environments during site visits as needed.

What you’ll gain in return:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including annual bonus opportunity.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development, including exposure to executive leadership and enterprise-wide strategy.
  • A collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • The chance to shape the systems, data, and reliability strategy behind a rapidly growing cold storage network.
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and resources.
Here at Envision Cold, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. We strive to create a diverse and inclusive work environment where everyone is respected and valued for their unique contributions.
