QA Engineer in at Uniguest

Role Summary

As a QA Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and stability of our IPTV, digital signage, and enterprise cloud-based solutions. You will execute the full QA lifecycle - from planning and building test systems to identifying defects, reproducing issues, and validating releases - ensuring our products meet both business and user expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the quality of assigned product areas, ensuring releases meet product manager and end-user expectations.
• Collaborate with product managers and developers to create clear, effective test plans and test cases for end-to-end workflows.
• Implement and execute manual test plans across Linux, Windows, macOS, and web-based interfaces.
• Build, configure, and maintain test systems, including virtualised environments (VMWare) and cloud-based deployments.
• Identify, reproduce, and document defects with clear, step-by-step replication paths.
• Work closely with development teams to triage issues and verify fixes.
• Support the QA team in preparing and releasing software builds.
• Review release notes, user guides, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and clarity.
• Provide meaningful feedback on technical design documents and quality specifications.
• Gain deep knowledge of Uniguest technologies, hardware/software interactions, and system behaviours.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ Years previous experience within a Test Engineering position.
• Good knowledge of scripting language (e.g. PHP and bash).
• Working knowledge of Linux.
• Knowledge of cloud networking architecture and cloud operations.
• Experience with virtualisation technologies, in particular VMWare.
• Excellent communication skills internally and externally.
• Experience with the implementation and/or operations of medium to large-scale enterprise cloud infrastructures.
• Experience of testing web-based applications on Windows and Mac OS X.
• A good understanding of data security and privacy concerns desirable along with experience in Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to automate testing preferably using Python.
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Curl etc)
• Knowledge of IPTV, digital signage, or media streaming technologies advantageous.
