Clinical Trials Assistant (CTA)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Trials Assistant (CTA) to join our team at our York Clinical Research Site.

The CTA is an integral role within the clinical research site and will be responsible for Laboratory, Fibroscanning and Clinical Assistance tasks. The post-holder should have excellent interpersonal skills, energy, pro-active drive and enthusiasm for the role, to ensure that high quality clinical research is delivered according to agreed targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for sample processing (e.g., blood, urine) as per each specific study protocol
  • Responsibility for taking Blood Samples
  • Liaising with external lab vendors and Sponsors to ensure safe and timely transfer of samples as required and in accordance with IATA guidelines.
  • Operate Fibroscanning on patients, in line with competency frameworks to ensure accurate readings
  • Responsible for complex data collection in accordance with Good Clinical Practice
  • Effective communication with the site team, including management of emails, phone calls etc
  • Assisting with preparation for clinical visits

Skills and capabilities for this role:

  • Educated to degree level in life sciences or a health-related field
  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Experience working in a lab environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in processing complex information (Data Entry)
  • Pro-active mind set and motivated to learn new skills
