This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a RHEL OS Admin based in the United States.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical Linux environments supporting large-scale, always-on operations. You will work in a highly regulated federal project environment where uptime and reliability are essential, contributing directly to system continuity and operational resilience. The position involves hands-on administration of RHEL systems, automation of operational tasks, and collaboration with cross-functional infrastructure and application teams. You will play a key role in patch management, troubleshooting, and cloud-based system administration across leading platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. This is a highly technical and impactful role suited for professionals who thrive in 24/7 enterprise environments. You will also contribute to automation initiatives using scripting and orchestration tools to improve efficiency and system reliability.
- Manage RHEL OS patching activities in a large-scale 24/7 production environment, ensuring system stability and security compliance.
- Provide administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting support for Linux (RHEL) systems across enterprise infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible, shell scripting, and Perl to streamline patching and operational support tasks.
- Support Windows OS patching activities in smaller but critical environments as part of cross-platform administration responsibilities.
- Collaborate with SAP application administrators and cloud engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration and performance.
- Perform system administration tasks using AWS, Azure, and GCP consoles for cloud-based infrastructure environments.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hours support for critical incidents in a 24/7 operational setting.
- Ensure system availability, performance optimization, and adherence to security and operational standards.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this role due to federal project requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong hands-on experience in Linux (RHEL) system administration in enterprise environments.
- Experience in Windows OS administration and patch management in production environments.
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages including Ansible, shell scripting, and Perl.
- Experience supporting large-scale, 24/7 operational environments with on-call responsibilities.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for system administration tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills in complex infrastructure environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams.
