About the Role

The Pro Shop Manager at Legend plays an important role in leading daily pro shop operations and enhancing the overall guest experience. This position is responsible for managing retail operations, maintaining inventory, supporting sales goals, and ensuring the pro shop is welcoming, organized, and well-stocked with quality merchandise.

The Pro Shop Manager provides leadership, training, and support to pro shop staff to ensure consistent customer service and operational excellence. This role also supports product promotion, vendor relationships, and sales strategies that help drive revenue and guest satisfaction. The Pro Shop Manager is a key part of creating a professional, guest-focused environment that reflects the values and standards of Shanty Creek Resorts.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience, preferably in a hospitality, recreation, golf, or resort setting.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, merchandising, and sales strategies.
  • Experience leading, training, or supervising team members.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as scheduled.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a pro shop, golf retail, resort, or similar guest-facing retail environment.
  • Knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, accessories, and related recreational products.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and retail management software.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and product ordering.
  • Strong understanding of guest service standards in a hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the Legend Pro Shop.
  • Lead, train, schedule, and support pro shop staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service and set the standard for guest interactions.
  • Manage inventory levels, merchandising, ordering, and product presentation.
  • Ensure the pro shop is clean, organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing.
  • Develop and support sales strategies to increase revenue and improve guest satisfaction.
  • Train staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service best practices.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to support timely delivery and appropriate stock levels.
  • Monitor sales trends, customer feedback, and inventory movement to guide product decisions.
  • Assist with promotions, special events, outings, and other golf operations needs.
  • Ensure accurate use of point-of-sale systems and proper cash handling procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with golf operations leadership regarding sales, staffing, inventory, and guest needs.
Skills and Abilities

The Pro Shop Manager role requires strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills. This position must be able to lead a team, support a positive work environment, and ensure guests receive professional and helpful service.

Analytical skills are important for reviewing sales data, monitoring inventory, and making informed decisions about product offerings and promotions. Strong attention to detail is also necessary to maintain accurate inventory, attractive merchandising, and smooth daily operations.
