Job Description

Software Engineer (Mid-Senior)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer (Mid-Senior) based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of product engineering and mission-critical system development, building secure, scalable software used in highly complex and distributed environments. You will contribute to systems that enable continuous delivery, package management, and software deployment across disconnected and secure infrastructures. Working closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, you will help translate requirements into reliable, production-ready solutions. The work spans cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes-based architectures, and secure software supply chains. You will operate in a fast-moving, highly collaborative engineering environment where ownership, autonomy, and technical rigor are key. This is an opportunity to build systems that directly support critical operational and mission-focused outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Build, ship, and maintain production-grade software systems supporting mission-critical environments
  • Design and implement features across distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native architectures
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Contribute to system design discussions, architecture decisions, and technical implementation planning
  • Debug, optimize, and support production systems, including participation in on-call rotations
  • Ensure interoperability, security compliance, and integration with external or defense-related systems
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including design docs, runbooks, and user guides
  • Participate in and improve open-source ecosystems and internal tooling where applicable
Requirements:
  • 3+ years (mid-level) or 5+ years (senior-level) experience in software engineering
  • Proficiency in Go or other modern programming languages
  • Strong understanding of system design, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
  • Experience building distributed systems, developer tools, or software delivery platforms
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts such as controllers, operators, and CRDs
  • Understanding of software supply chain security practices (SBOMs, signing, scanning, etc.)
  • Experience working in or contributing to open-source ecosystems is a strong plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to deliver scalable and pragmatic solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and take ownership of complex systems
  • Senior-level: experience leading architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-team initiatives
Benefits:
  • Competitive US-based salary ranging from $123,250 to $201,250 depending on experience
  • Fully remote work across the United States
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health Savings Account, life insurance, and disability coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company stock options
  • Flexible Time Off plus federal holidays, extended holiday breaks, and paid parental leave
  • Home office budget and remote work support
  • Learning and development budget including training, certifications, and conferences
  • Opportunities to work on open-source and cloud-native technologies at scale
