Consumer Loan Processor/Officer in Moscow, Idaho at Latah Credit Union

A Consumer Loan Processor/Officer is responsible for loan department clerical duties as well as interviewing applicants for consumer loan requests. We strive to have full service loan officers who are experienced and knowledgeable with all loan types Latah Credit Union has to offer, while also promoting other Credit Union products and services.

Each loan officer is responsible for ensuring each loan meets all Credit Union and regulatory guidelines.

This position assists the applicant with every step of the loan process; start to finish, including opening new accounts as needed.

Experience is preferred but not required. The position is designed as an introduction into consumer lending, working towards becoming a consumer loan officer, but can be adapted for those with proven experience.

This is an in-person position located in our Moscow, ID office. Required schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm with 1 hour for lunch.

Timely and accurate completion of the following duties including, but not limited to:

• Promptly answer phone calls as a point of contact for the loan department
• Accept walk-in and scheduled appointments with potential loan applicants
• Provide administrative assistance to the loan officer and staff, including updating loan data in the Credit Union’s computers, processing letters, and assembling documentation for member loans
• Review loan application for accuracy, compliance, and completeness
• Notify applicant of loan decision. Correspond with members, applicants, and creditors to resolve questions regarding application information in a professional and courteous manner
• Order and evaluate income verifications and credit reports
• Obtain JD Power book value and CarFax report for potential loan collateral
• Determine acceptable Credit Union risk for unsecured loan options
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with borrowers, vendors, and Credit Union staff providing status updates and outstanding items to facilitate an organized loan closing
• Review, collect, and fulfill underwriting conditions
• Examine supporting documentation and investigate any inconsistencies to identify potential fraud or misrepresentation
• Prepare and deliver documents adhering to regulatory requirements
• Review signed closing documents to ensure accuracy, proper execution, and completeness
• Prepare and disburse loans
• Determine eligibility of co-makers and co-signers
• Assist and educate applicants in the buying and/or refinancing loan process
• Implement new loan products and services in accordance with management direction
• Attend Credit Union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as directed and approved by management

• Ability to lift and carry approximately 30 lbs

• Valid Driver's License is required
