Private Lending Officer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Private Lending Officer based in Canada.

This role sits at the heart of a high-touch private banking environment, supporting high-net-worth clients with complex lending and transactional needs. You will act as a key point of contact for sophisticated banking requests, ensuring accuracy, speed, and exceptional service quality across all interactions. The position requires strong technical lending knowledge combined with a client-first mindset to navigate detailed financial operations. You will collaborate closely with advisors, operations teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver seamless end-to-end lending experiences. This is a fast-paced role where precision, ownership, and proactive problem-solving directly impact client satisfaction and trust. You will also contribute to improving processes, identifying opportunities for better service delivery, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support across private lending and banking operations, ensuring smooth execution of complex client requests and maintaining strong service standards:

  • Manage and execute complex financial transactions including wire payments, fund transfers, and other high-value banking operations with accuracy and compliance.
  • Support lending-related inquiries such as renewals, rate changes, Manulife One (M1) accounts, mortgages, and account maintenance activities.
  • Handle general banking requests including bill payments, credit card inquiries, account updates, Interac e-Transfers, and GIC-related services.
  • Assist with account openings (personal, business, and Adva) while ensuring a concierge-level client experience.
  • Process fee waiver requests and other operational exceptions with sound judgment and adherence to policies.
  • Serve as a key support partner to advisors and internal teams, ensuring timely resolution of client issues and escalations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client experience and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and workflows.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across the full lending lifecycle.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong financial services experience and the ability to manage complex, high-volume client interactions in a detail-driven environment:

  • Experience in private banking, lending operations, commercial banking, or high-net-worth client service environments.
  • Strong understanding of lending products, banking operations, and end-to-end financial transaction processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex requests with accuracy, urgency, and strong attention to detail.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and banking systems/tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered a strong asset.
