Position Overview:

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking an experienced Commercial Garage Door Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience servicing, repairing, and installing commercial dock and door equipment, along with welding experience related to commercial doors and loading dock systems.

This position is responsible for safely performing installations, repairs, and maintenance while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial dock and door equipment, including loading dock levelers, dock restraints, sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, and related systems
  • Review daily work orders, coordinate with dispatch, and obtain required materials and equipment from suppliers
  • Inspect job sites to identify installation requirements, safety concerns, and potential service issues
  • Safely transport materials and equipment to customer locations and complete installations and repairs according to company standards and manufacturer specifications
  • Work safely on ladders ranging from 8 to 24 feet and operate scissor lifts and aerial work platforms up to 40 feet
  • Operate forklifts, welding equipment, power tools, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned work safely and efficiently
  • Complete required safety documentation and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • Remove, haul away, and properly dispose of old equipment and materials as needed
  • Maintain a professional appearance, provide excellent customer service, and communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Keep company vehicles, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and properly maintained
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
  • 3–5 years of experience installing, servicing, and repairing commercial dock and door equipment.
  • 3–5 years of welding experience related to commercial dock and door systems.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage assigned jobs
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship

Schedule:

  • Standard Monday to Friday availability from 7 AM to 6 PM
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • Some emergency on-call after hours as needed

Work Location:

  • Travel required within 90+ miles of the assigned market area.
