What You'll Do

As a Practical Nursing Professor, you will:

  • Create engaging and meaningful learning experiences in the classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical settings.
  • Teach and evaluate students while helping them develop safe, competent, and compassionate nursing practices.
  • Mentor and advise students throughout their nursing education.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and success.
  • Help maintain strong relationships with clinical partners.
  • Participate in faculty recruitment and evaluation, as well as other departmental responsibilities.
  • Incorporate current evidence-based nursing practices and applicable state and program standards into instruction.


Job Requirements:

What We're Looking For-
Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Nursing Education; candidates with a bachelor's degree in nursing who are enrolled in and actively pursuing a master's degree or higher in nursing will also be considered.
  • Current New York State Professional Nursing License.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong teaching, clinical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Excellent critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Nursing or a related field.
  • Experience with simulation-based learning.
