Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Operations Engineer based in India.
This role sits at the intersection of industrial engineering and cutting-edge AI-driven operations, enabling real-time monitoring and optimization of manufacturing processes from a fully remote environment. You will act as a human-in-the-loop expert supporting AI systems that oversee machine and process health across industrial production lines. The role focuses on identifying anomalies, guiding operational decisions, and ensuring continuity in high-complexity manufacturing environments. You will collaborate closely with on-site teams while leveraging advanced digital dashboards and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce operational friction. This is a unique opportunity to transition from traditional plant-based engineering into a tech-enabled, remote-first operational model. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving production outcomes, minimizing downtime, and scaling intelligent manufacturing systems.
- Monitor industrial production environments remotely using AI-powered dashboards to track performance, process conditions, and operational KPIs.
- Review and triage AI-generated alerts and anomalies, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of process deviations.
- Act as a real-time liaison between AI systems and on-site manufacturing teams, supporting operational decision-making via digital communication tools.
- Maintain detailed operational logs, shift handover documentation, and structured reporting for continuity across teams and time zones.
- Provide expert human-in-the-loop support to troubleshoot complex manufacturing and process-related issues.
- Collaborate with on-site engineers to guide process optimization and ensure operational stability and efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and contributing to workflow enhancements and system refinement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 4–8 years of experience in industrial manufacturing operations, process monitoring, troubleshooting, or optimization.
- Hands-on experience with industrial control and monitoring systems such as DCS, SCADA, and historian platforms (e.g., AVEVA or equivalent).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex operational data and translate insights into actionable decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with on-site engineering and operations teams.
- Familiarity with industrial automation, instrumentation, or process control systems is highly desirable.
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
- Interest in AI-driven industrial systems and automation-enabled operations is highly valued.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure operational scenarios.
- Competitive compensation aligned with industrial engineering and remote operations roles.
- Fully remote work setup with structured collaboration across global operations teams.
- Opportunity to work at the forefront of AI-enabled industrial transformation and smart manufacturing.
- Exposure to advanced AI systems, real-time analytics platforms, and automation technologies.
- Strong learning and development opportunities in industrial AI, process optimization, and digital operations.
- Inclusive, diverse, and innovation-driven work environment.
- Opportunity to contribute directly to improving efficiency, sustainability, and reliability in global manufacturing systems.
- Dynamic role combining engineering expertise with next-generation digital operations.
