Soybean Production Manager

Join our team as a Soybean Production Manager and play a vital role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of soybean production, ensuring the highest quality and supply of Legend Seeds soybeans. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, growers, and industry partners to deliver premium soybean products to market efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the agronomy team on product selection to optimize soybean quality and yield.

- Develop and implement comprehensive soybean production plans based on sales forecasts.

- Work closely with soybean growers throughout all stages of production, from planting to harvest, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.

- Coordinate with the sales team, processors, and support teams to prepare finished inventory for distribution.

- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with support teams to assist with projects and meet business needs.

- Ensure compliance with Legend Seeds policies, seed storage, and quality standards.

- Monitor and manage production schedules, inventory levels, and resource allocation.

- Identify and address potential production issues proactively to minimize disruptions.

- Stay informed about industry trends, agronomic practices, and regulatory requirements affecting soybean production.

- Reconcile year end settlements for growers and processors.

- Manage costs by pricing soybeans and negotiating soybean contracts.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Management, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

- Proven experience in crop production management, preferably with soybeans.

- Strong understanding of agronomic practices, seed quality standards, and supply chain logistics.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and growers.

- Ability to develop strategic production plans based on market forecasts.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Knowledge of compliance standards related to seed production and storage.

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.

- Ability to travel about 20% of the time. A company vehicle will be available when travel is required.

- Valid Driver's license.

- Authorized to work in the United States.
