Senior Systems Administrator

Summary
We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to support and maintain mission-critical IT systems in a dynamic government environment. In this role, you’ll manage day-to-day operations across server, storage, network, client/server, and virtualized systems, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and help ensure secure, reliable, high-performing infrastructure.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Windows and UNIX administration, VMware, Active Directory, DNS, SCCM, WSUS, SharePoint, and network troubleshooting, along with the ability to support both help desk and escalated technical issues. Capabilities
- Expertise in systems administration across complex Windows, UNIX, and virtualized environments
- Strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical issues
- Experience supporting server, storage, network, and client/server infrastructure
- Proficiency with VMware virtualization and virtual environment management
- Hands-on knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, GPOs, SCCM, WSUS, and TCP/IP
- Experience managing server configurations, access controls, and system performance optimization
- Ability to maintain and monitor enterprise IT systems for reliability, availability, and security
- Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft collaboration tools, and secure network environments
- Experience implementing security patches, system enhancements, and vulnerability remediation
- Skilled in testing, validating, and supporting hardware/software interoperability changes
- Ability to support technical working groups, configuration control processes, and infrastructure planning
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide technical recommendations, status updates, and end-user support
- Experience using ticketing/help desk systems to manage work assignments and issue resolution
- Ability to work effectively in a mission-focused, high-visibility government IT environment
Education, Certifications, and Training
- Certification aligned to an IAT-II Server Administration / Virtualization specialized role required, such as: CompTIA Server+, MCSA / MCITP: Windows Server 2008, MCSA: Windows Server 2012, MCTS certifications in Active Directory, Network Configuration, or Applications Infrastructure, or MCP: Administering Windows Servers
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of relevant systems administration / virtualization experience preferred
- Training or demonstrated expertise in server virtualization, Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and enterprise infrastructure support

Compensation
This position is offered with a salary range of $143,000.00 - $161,000.00 annually, based on experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and contract labor category requirements.

Physical Demands
