JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the five Samaritan Foundations by supporting the team in two key areas: board engagement and donor stewardship. Ensures the smooth operation of board and committee activities while also helping cultivate meaningful relationships with annual and mid-level donors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, relational, and mission-driven—someone who thrives on connecting people to purpose and creating exceptional experiences for volunteers and donors alike.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Team members of the Samaritan Health Services Foundations actively engage philanthropic partners in the mission of SHS, its five hospitals, and its many healthcare services. This team works with individuals, businesses, and foundations to encourage investment in the SHS vision of providing the highest standard of healthcare to enhance the patient experience and improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve. As active members in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, team members are dedicated to developing philanthropic relationships that are guided by the Donor Bill of Rights and managed with integrity and respect.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Two (2) years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, volunteer coordination, or a related field required.

Experience in a healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); willingness to learn donor CRM tools (e.g., Raiser’s Edge).
-
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
-
Familiarity with donor stewardship strategies, moves management, or volunteer board governance.

Knowledge of Benton, Lincoln, Lincoln counties’ philanthropic and civic communities.
-
Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to fundraising and patient privacy.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; enjoys connecting with people in person and by phone.
