Housekeeping Manager in Washington, District of Columbia at HK Integrated Services US Inc

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to support the daily housekeeping operations at our new Georgetown hotel. The ideal candidate will have hospitality experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and guest satisfaction. This position works closely with the Area Manager to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet the hotel's high standards while leading and supporting the housekeeping team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising the daily operations of the housekeeping department.
• Assign daily room assignments and work schedules to housekeeping staff.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hotel standards.
• Support the Housekeeping team in training, coaching, and mentoring housekeeping team members.
• Monitor staff performance and provide guidance to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Ensure all cleaning procedures and safety protocols are followed.
• Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies, linens, and housekeeping equipment.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns.
• Report maintenance issues and coordinate with the Engineering department as needed.
• Help maintain a positive, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing coverage as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties when necessary to support the team during high occupancy periods.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and hotel cleanliness standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Spanish speaking required; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hotel property management or housekeeping management systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and proper chemical handling.
• Experience working in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality education is a plus.
