As our Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and improving the mechanical systems behind GlassPoint's innovative technology. From concept development and detailed design to testing and validation, you'll help create reliable, efficient solutions that are deployed in industrial-scale renewable energy projects around the world.
Working closely with Structural, Electrical and Thermal Engineers, you'll turn engineering ideas into practical designs while supporting the continuous evolution of our technology
Your Impact
The mechanical systems you design will directly influence the performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost of GlassPoint's technology. You'll contribute to the development of innovative collector systems, design test equipment that validates new concepts, and work with multidisciplinary teams to bring engineering solutions from design to deployment.
What You'll DoDesign Innovative Mechanical Systems
- Design and optimize enclosed parabolic trough collectors and their mechanical subsystems.
- Develop mechanical concepts, detailed designs, and production-ready solutions.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
Collaborate Arcross Engineering
- Work closely with Structural, Electrical and Thermal Engineers throughout the development process.
- Support production approvals, technical change processes, and supplier coordination.
- Assist Operations with assembly procedures and technical documentation.
Develop & Validate New Solutions
- Define test requirements and engineering specifications.
- Design and develop mechanical test benches to validate components and assemblies.
- Analyse test results and support continuous product improvement.
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
- Contribute to the development of innovative engineering solutions for future generations of GlassPoint technology.
You're passionate about mechanical design and enjoy turning complex engineering challenges into practical solutions. You combine strong CAD skills with hands-on engineering thinking and enjoy collaborating across disciplines to develop innovative products.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Strong CAD skills, ideally using Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of mechanical testing, validation, and engineering specifications.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A structured, proactive, and collaborative way of working.
- Excellent English communication skills, German is a plus
- Experience designing manufacturing equipment or production machinery.
- Experience designing test benches or validation equipment.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies or industrial equipment.
