Position Summary
Henley Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of construction projects. This role works closely with the Project Manager to help identify client and stakeholder needs, organize project documentation, support project meetings, and contribute to successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail oriented, and committed to building strong working relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal project teams. This position is an important development role with a potential career path toward Project Manager.

Henley Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of construction projects. Key Responsibilities
Project Document Control
- Review and understand plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements under the direction of the Project Manager.
- Develop, log, schedule, review, distribute, and track project documents and submittals.
- Maintain project records including RFIs, ASIs, drawings, sketches, permits, specifications, photos, change event logs, and other project documentation.
- Maintain accurate and current project documentation within Procore and other project management platforms.
- Support the Project Manager by tracking, monitoring, and updating project schedules and material tracking logs.
- Coordinate with project team members to verify material deliveries and communicate project changes.
- Assist with BIM coordination, field coordination, and project closeout activities.
- Coordinate the preparation of closeout documents, punch list completion, and final project turnover documentation.
- Prepare and distribute preconstruction and progress meeting minutes.
- Attend subcontractor and foremen meetings as required and maintain meeting records.
- Track meeting action items and support project team follow up.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating project processes and incorporating feedback to improve project outcomes.
- Demonstrate effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Maintain a working knowledge of construction safety requirements and best practices.
- Hold or actively pursue OSHA 30 certification.
- Report unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately to project leadership.
- Support and promote safe work practices on every project site.
- Assist with coaching and mentoring field engineers and team members as needed.
- Participate in training programs, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
- Support a culture of growth, learning, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Required
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
- OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience.
- First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Procore Certification.
- Document Crunch experience or certification.
- Experience using construction technology and project management software including Procore, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
- Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Collaborative mindset with a commitment to teamwork.
- High level of accountability and professionalism.
