Seasonal - Underwriting Representative

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Seasonal - Underwriting Representative based in United States.

This seasonal remote opportunity supports healthcare operations by helping deliver accurate, timely, and positive experiences for members and partners.
The role combines customer service, application review, and administrative support within a structured underwriting environment.
You will assist with preparing Medicare Supplement applications, resolving inquiries, and ensuring information is complete for efficient processing.
The position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who enjoy helping customers while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
You will collaborate with internal teams, agents, and members while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Accountabilities:

The Seasonal Underwriting Representative will support daily consumer service and underwriting activities by assisting with application preparation, customer interactions, and operational processes. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while following established guidelines.

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls from members, agents, and internal teams regarding Medicare Supplement plans and related services.
  • Provide professional customer support while ensuring a positive member experience.
  • Review, prepare, and scrub applications before underwriting review to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify missing information on applications and document required follow-ups appropriately.
  • Support enrollment, eligibility, customer service, and administrative processes as needed.
  • Investigate and help resolve customer service issues within established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records while handling confidential member information responsibly.
  • Navigate multiple computer applications simultaneously in a production-based environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support timely processing and quality standards.
  • Follow operational procedures, compliance requirements, and service expectations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused professional with strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a remote environment. They should demonstrate attention to detail, adaptability, and confidence managing multiple systems and responsibilities.

  • Must reside in the Central or Eastern time zone.
  • Previous customer service, healthcare operations, administrative, or related experience.
  • Experience using multiple computer applications while managing competing tasks in a production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing or inaccurate information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of customer interactions while maintaining service quality.
  • Comfortable working independently while following established processes and guidelines.
  • Experience handling confidential or sensitive information is preferred.
  • Background in healthcare, managed care, banking, insurance, or similar industries is a plus.
  • Experience supporting senior populations is preferred.
  • Ability to meet remote work requirements, including a secure dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
