About the Category Manager role

Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, the Category Manager – Refreshments will manage and optimize ANBL’s beer, cooler, and non-alcoholic portfolios. They will set, communicate, and execute strategic direction, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals and share category insights.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the Beer, Cooler and Non-Alcoholic category, including listing and delisting products, and monitoring sales targets.
  • Analyzing and interpreting category data, metrics, and reports.
  • Tracking category performance against targets.
  • Leading supplier selection process, making recommendations, and negotiating contracts.
  • Developing and monitoring the category’s annual budget.


What do you need to be successful?

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge of ANBL’s beer, cooler, and non-alcoholic portfolios.
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS office, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Would be an asset if you had:

  • Deep understanding of category management practices, including product lifecycle management.
  • An understanding of domestic and global supply chain logistics processes and pressures.
  • An understanding of retail merchandising principles and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive supplier relationships, with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and business results.
  • Experience providing leadership, coaching, and direction to employees and/or cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using Microsoft D365 applications.
  • Experience managing supplier partnerships, including negotiations, performance expectations, and contract requirements.

  • Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset, but not required


Work location:

  • The Retail Operations Centre is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
  • The successful candidate must be based in New Brunswick; a hybrid work arrangement is possible.
  • Semi-regular travel for meetings and project work may be required.

Compensation information:

  • $ 81,790 to $94,981
